Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 22494 to insiders on the Dev channel. This version brings changes and improvements related to the UI of multitasking, taskbar, default apps, and installed apps.

After installing Build 22494, you can easily mute and unmute the microphone directly from the taskbar during a Microsoft Teams call. The snapshot group will now appear in the ALT TAB and task views. The default application settings page displays a drop-down list of options containing search queries without having to press Enter first. New sorting options on the installed apps page.

Check the complete update log for Build 22494 below.

When you forget to unmute or mute the microphone, there are no more embarrassing or embarrassing moments. Starting with Microsoft Teams today, you will find that when you are in a call, the microphone icon will be automatically added to your taskbar. You can view the audio status of your call, the application that is accessing your microphone, and quickly mute and unmute your call at any time.

When you join the meeting, you will immediately see the following icon in the taskbar. This icon will appear throughout your call, so it can be accessed at any time no matter how many windows you open on the screen.

We started to extend this experience to a subset of Windows Insiders with Microsoft Teams for Work or Schools installed, and it gradually increased over time. This means that not everyone will see this immediately in their Teams call. We plan to bring it from Microsoft Teams (Microsoft Teams for home) to Chat later.

Other communication applications can also add this feature to their applications. The function of mute or unmute your call only applies to your current call.

You can now use the new call mute feature on Windows 11 to communicate and collaborate confidently and easily. We plan to enable this feature for all Windows 11 customers in a future service update.

*Features and app availability may vary by region.

Note: Some of the fixes pointed out here in the Insider Preview version from the active development branch may enter the service update of the released version of Windows 11, which was officially released on October 5.
