Time is coming, here is the grille.

The new generation Lexus LX was launched as the flagship of Toyota's luxury brand SUV. It uses a huge chrome-plated spindle grille to make the vehicle look like a huge electric shaver.

Scheduled to arrive in SA in the first quarter of 2022, the luxury off-road vehicle has a standard appearance, four-seater VIP-class or F Sport models, with clearer handling and a less shocking black mesh grille.

Redesigned from the ground up, the fourth-generation LX is based on the same new GA-F platform as the recently launched Toyota Land Cruiser 300, with a 20% increase in rigidity to provide better vehicle stability and ride comfort.

It retains the traditional body frame structure, but reduces about 200 kg to improve handling and fuel economy.

The Active Height Control (AHC) suspension allows the ride height to be adjusted according to the driving environment and has a larger range of ride height positions. The spring can be softened for a comfortable ride, or it can be hardened for a better curve hug.

As before, the LX has an independent front suspension and a sturdy rear axle. The latter contributes to the all-terrain capability of all-wheel drive vehicles. Its off-road capability further enhances the rear of the vehicle with a low-end transfer case, multi-terrain selection (MTS) with six modes, crawl control, multi-terrain monitor (MTM), and the world's first under-floor rear view showing the area underneath. .

The wide ground obstacle angle (approach angle, departure angle and ramp breakthrough angle) and 700mm wading capacity are the same as the previous model.

In addition to the LX's aluminum doors, there is also a luxurious new cabin with improved comfort and technology. The dual display instrument panel has a 12.3-inch upper screen and a 7-inch lower screen, with multiple views and meters. Lexus's first fingerprint authentication key activation switch reduces the risk of theft. A 25-speaker Mark Levinson premium sound system is also provided.

Advanced safety includes pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.

The new LX will be equipped with two new engines, which have more power than the upcoming version. LX600 is equipped with 3.5l V6 twin-turbocharged gasoline engine with output power of 305kW and 650Nm, LX500d is equipped with 3.3l V6 diesel twin-turbocharged engine with output power of 225kW and 700Nm. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

When you press the "Relax" mode button, the newly added VIP level provides luxury car-like comfort, two independent rear seats can be tilted 48°, the rear entertainment system and the front passenger seat are long behind 1m of rear legroom (including footrest).

The more dynamic F Sport has a limited-slip differential and an adjusted suspension for enhanced cornering traction. In addition to the black grille, it is also equipped with exclusive black 22-inch forged alloy wheels-this is Lexus's largest wheel to date.

Local prices and specifications will be determined before release.
