Since the visionary Dominique Perrault first adopted metal fabrics in the design of the French National Library in Paris, architects around the world have been using metal fabrics and bringing high sustainability to their designs the result of.

Healthy interior design The City of Light Paris has launched the architectural metal fabric category, so this material also helps architects meet the healthy lighting requirements outlined in multiple global sustainability plans. Woven materials help improve daylighting conditions and provide sunlight and outdoor views. In North America, metal fabrics receive LEED scores under the categories of energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation and design, and site selection.

Energy performance building grids have also proven to be good at regulating glare and solar heat gain through windows and glass windows. The metal mesh used as the external shading of the building can reduce the cooling load and energy consumption of the HVAC system, thereby significantly affecting energy saving and operating costs.

The extended outer metal fabric can be woven with a range of alloys, but its iconic stainless steel provides a highly durable and maintenance-free solution for the interior and exterior. As current health and safety precautions encourage outdoor activities that keep a distance from society, architects are exploring awnings, overhangs and other structures to shelter and define external spaces. Metal fabrics are very suitable for dividing auxiliary facilities for natural ventilation, connecting people and nature safely. It provides flexible design solutions that can adapt to location, exposure to sunlight, humidity and other elements. Architects can use a variety of available finishes, weaves, and metal alloys to choose from a variety of aesthetics and customization options.

Recycling commitments The stainless steel used in GKD metal fabrics contains more than 60% post-industrial and post-consumer recycled content, and 100% of scrap metal materials are recycled during the manufacturing process. Since the filter screen is made of stainless steel or other non-degradable alloys, there is no timetable for removal or replacement except for modification, refurbishment or changes to customer needs. However, if the material is removed, GKD metal fabric is 100% recyclable.
